At the beginning, there were several issues we had that could have been easily fixed, such as steadier camera work, unnecessary scenes, choppy editing, and no open space for job titles.
When we first started out, we didn't realize how big of an impact the lighting would have, since we filmed in the late afternoon. The sky was almost black and there were no lights at the park, so it was very hard to make out exactly what was going on in the scenes. We were intending to film it at night to add a spooky effect, but we didn't consider the logistics of it.
Another skill we improved on was directing our actors. We realized that we were not specific enough when describing to them their roles, so we had to get in their place sometimes and give more of a demonstration of what exactly they what going to say, such as: how they were going to say their lines, their positioning on set, facial expressions and body language.
Another skill we developed was adding in several short takes that consisted of close-ups, inserts or shots at a different angle to show the characters reactions as a scene was happening, as well as more detail and perspectives of what it happening. This helps to engage the audience by bringing out the intensity of a certain situation.
