Our first convention that we decided to use was starting the film off with a pan shot of the two friends walking to the park and having the camera zoom in on the "Glebe Park" sign. This was done to establish location which is done in many other films as it helps to indicate the setting. Our second convention was having close-up and short takes of the bad guy in our film known as "stranger" getting angry and taking out his frustration. This is conventional because several other films in the thriller or horror genre show clips of the antagonist losing their mind which leads to harming other people. Our third convention would be the suspenseful music played in the background as "stranger" is making his way inside the house. This way done to make the mood unsettling which is common in many suspense films.
The social groups represented are athletic teenage boys. Our hired actors are all teenagers and play sports, they are good physical shape to be seen as competitive basketball players. Harrison plays basketball in real life, Logan plays basketball for the school team, and William played basketball in middle school. These social groups are represented through the opening scenes where they are playing basketball against a random player at the park. There are several highlights showcasing their skill in these scenes.
