Movies are generally distributed through theaters then they can be seen on digital release or personal home viewing. About 98% of movies make 95% of ticket sales from the theater within the first 17 days of its release. High tier movies, like blockbusters usually stay in theaters for a long time, up to 3 months. While lower tier movies that don't get as much attention don't stay theaters for much time and the movie distributors tend to rely on the sales coming from television or streaming services providing access to the film sometime after the theater release. Recently, teens and young adults have been showing less attendance than previously before. Considering that this is the age for my target audience, I would want to ensure that the product is getting marketed enough to that age range. Our movie will likely be a mid-level film possible high-level, so we would aim to keep our film in theaters for roughly two months and then offer it on digital release for streaming services such as Netflix or Hulu.
