Our film uses several techniques to capture conventions in the thriller/suspense genre. At the start of our movie, we decided to begin with a somewhat positive and innocent mood, the two friends were just going to the park to play basketball. These friends could represent the social group of teenage boys. As the film goes on, it gets darker because the sun has just set, so the feel of the movie becomes spookier. The close-ups of the enraged bad guy is meant to create some discomfort with the viewer. The series of clips where Forrest can be seen stalking them home, develops nervous excitement. This paired with the suspenseful music really replicates the style commonly used in thriller movies. A possible issue that this film addresses would be the dangers of going out to sketchy places late at night.
