In the first two minutes, the film shows people who are enjoying themselves on the beach late at night. One of them decides to go out for a swim and swims all the way out to the buoy. That person gets attacked by the shark and gets dragged side to side until she is pulled underwater. Then it cuts to the next clip which takes place the day after and the girl is pronounced dead. A film technique that is being used is a point of view shot. The camera is positioned underwater facing up toward the girl who is swimming and moves closer to her that the shark is approaching. While this is happening, there is incidental music being played, which gets faster and louder to indicate that the shark is about to get her. The combination of these techniques helps to create tension for the audience. In the opening credits, the three main actors are featured as well as the production company and music composer. The budget for jaws was 7 millions dollars and it made 470 million. It won several awards such as, best film music and people's choice award.
